Vintage Tilda Cushion

Hi all and thanks for coming by my blog! Hope you're having a great day and an even better weekend! Can I tell you how HOT it is out here in Arizona? I think I could fry eggs on the sidewalk if I wanted. I mowed the lawn about 7:30 this morning and I thought I was going to die! I say to my hubby tell, me why we left the coast in California again?        Anyway...........I have something new I want to show you that I made a few days ago. I was inspired by Kylie of http://kylieskraftroom.blogspot.com/2011/05/pin-up-girl.html, thanks Kylie.Using white muslin fabric I stamped Tilda With Flower Pot  from the Butterfly Dreams Collection with rich cocoa from Memento Ink and colored her with copic markers. Sorry, I don' remember the colors I used. Now mind you, I don't consider myself a sewer person but this really was'nt hard to do. I had purchased some vintage type fabric and lace from Joann Fabrics and the little organza rosets behind the roses from WalMart. It comes in other colors and is sold by the roll. The bow at the top is jute, also from Joanns and sold by the roll. The flowers are from WO and the pearls from my stash. It is 7 inches long and 4 inches wide and stuffed with a polyester fiberfill. I was going to use her as a pin cushion but I can't bring myself to stick pins in her! I want to make more because I really like to way she turned out.
If you have the time, please let me know what you think of my new creation.
Hugs to all!
Judy K.

This is wonderful... I have a question, does the fabric suck up a lot of the copic ink?

Hi Judy!
This is so gorgeous. your coloring is exceptional on muslim cloth. I think it would be someones keepsake.
You could make something like this and put a bar of soap in it too.

Oh, Judy, what a fabulous pin cushion. But I'm with you there, I wouldn't want to stick it with pins either. A fabulous job in colouring on cloth--I've never tried. Love this cute Tilda. Thanks for sharing.

Hey Judy! What a great idea to color on muslim fabric and make this gorgeous little cushion! Your coloring is fantstic; I'm sure I couldn't do that on fabric- it must be really difficult. Love the lace and the vintage look! This is great, wonderful work sweetie!

If this is what you do as a nob-sewer person..it would be something else to see what you would do if you were a sewer person! Cute as a button!
