Vintage Tilda Cushion

Hi all and thanks for coming by my blog! Hope you're having a great day and an even better weekend! Can I tell you how HOT it is out here in Arizona? I think I could fry eggs on the sidewalk if I wanted. I mowed the lawn about 7:30 this morning and I thought I was going to die! I say to my hubby tell, me why we left the coast in California again?        Anyway...........I have something new I want to show you that I made a few days ago. I was inspired by Kylie of http://kylieskraftroom.blogspot.com/2011/05/pin-up-girl.html, thanks Kylie.Using white muslin fabric I stamped Tilda With Flower Pot  from the Butterfly Dreams Collection with rich cocoa from Memento Ink and colored her with copic markers. Sorry, I don' remember the colors I used. Now mind you, I don't consider myself a sewer person but this really was'nt hard to do. I had purchased some vintage type fabric and lace from Joann Fabrics and the little organza rosets behind the roses from WalMart. It comes in other colors and is sold by the roll. The bow at the top is jute, also from Joanns and sold by the roll. The flowers are from WO and the pearls from my stash. It is 7 inches long and 4 inches wide and stuffed with a polyester fiberfill. I was going to use her as a pin cushion but I can't bring myself to stick pins in her! I want to make more because I really like to way she turned out.
If you have the time, please let me know what you think of my new creation.
Hugs to all!
Judy K.

It's Been Along Time!

Love this pink double ruffle ribbon!
Hi All! Gosh it's been sooo very long since I last posted. Alot of things going on in my life one of which was the loss of my sister in May. This was not unexpected. She battled her illness for over 3 years but when the time came it was so hard. I often told her she was my hero and the bravest  person I ever new! I feel so blessed to have my family and appreciate them now more then ever. Needless to say, up until recently I have not been in the crafting mood and not posting in the group. I had just finished coloring this sweet Tilda when all this happened so she's been sitting on a table I work on in my craft room. Last week I decided I was going to finish her but before I could do that I had to clean up the room. Well, I think it's reasonable to say that I now know that I'm a hoarder! OMG, I can't beleive all the "stuff" I had in there and duplicates to boot!!! I also decided to give my blog a new face as well as my Etsy shop. If you are reading this, thank you for coming by and as always your comments are appreciated and loved.
Hope you like my new card. I colored her with Ranger Distress Inks except for her skin, those I used copic markers. Think it came out pretty good for a first time. I used pretty flat back pearls, MS butterfly punch, double ruffle ribbon and a K&Co. demensional sticker with a pretty flower and the word DREAM. On the side of the card I used a Recollecions boarder punch. LOVE this punch, one of my faves! The paper is from my stash but I believe I bought it at Michaels. Well, thanks for taking the time to stop by and I plan on posting WAY MORE often in the future. Since it's friday, I want to wish you a safe and happy weekend!
See you later'
